Location. The Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C. is centrally located in the nation's capital, across from Potomac Park. Connected by a footbridge to Potomac Park, the Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C., is four blocks from the Smithsonian Institution and five blocks from the National Mall. The White House and the Thomas Jefferson Memorial are one half mile away.
Hotel Features. Multi course tasting menus created by an award winning chef are offered at CityZen, the hotel's flagship restaurant. Other on site dining options include Cafe MoZU, featuring Asian inspired cuisine in a contemporary setting. The Empress Lounge, a focal point of the hotel's main lobby, serves cocktails and features live entertainment. The hotel's 10,500 square foot spa offers Zen like ambience and is enhanced by burnished bronze ceilings, oak floors and light sycamore walls. Amethyst steam rooms, experience showers and relaxation areas offer multiple ways to unwind. The hotel also includes a fitness center with water views and a 50 foot, heated indoor lap pool. Children are welcome at the Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C. On arrival, children are given an animated map and a kid's passport. Younger visitors receive a soft plush Gund dog to keep them company throughout their stay.
Guestrooms. Guestrooms at the hotel feature Asian inspired d�cor with fresh orchids, dark wooden furniture and muted silk fabrics in burnt oranges and pale greens. Rooms are adorned with handmade silk tapestries and exclusive reproductions of artwork from the Smithsonian. Flat screen televisions and high speed Internet access are included. Bathrooms are decorated in Chinese marble. Select rooms include balconies. All rooms offer water or district views.
Expert Tip. A private gallery exhibiting fine art in a unique arrangement with the Smithsonian Institution is open on site for guests to view.
